For us, sustainability means protecting the environment
In concrete and measurable terms: lower fuel consumption, fewer emissions, and a longer service life.
We are convinced
Quality and sustainability pay off. Our guiding principles are: reduce, reuse, recycle, and generate our own energy.
Since 2024, we have been 95% carbon neutral across all group companies and our own value chain.
What we have implemented
- Decarbonization – We have replaced our heating systems, vehicles, and forklifts with zero-emission solutions. Employees can charge their electric vehicles for free at both of our locations.
- Energy efficiency – We have renovated historic buildings to the Minergie standard, installed LED lighting throughout our facilities, and purchased energy-efficient machine tools.
- Energy Self-Sufficiency – In Langnau and Uetendorf, we generate our own electricity using two solar power systems in each municipality. With an annual output of 675,000 kWh, our production far exceeds our own needs.
- Hazardous substances – We have reduced our use of hazardous and harmful substances by two-thirds.
- Material consumption – We strive to minimize the use of raw materials and implement paperless administrative processes.
- Environmentally friendly products – We develop, design, and manufacture environmentally friendly products: the hNEA reduces diesel consumption and CO₂ emissions by 80%; the KZW 25 E is a fully electric, emission-free cable pulling winch that operates without hydraulic oil.
- Circular economy – We repair and upgrade machines instead of replacing them, which allows us to keep them in service for as long as possible. Only components that cannot be reused are recycled – metal shavings and worn grounding contacts are sorted by type.
- High-density development – We preserve undeveloped land by transferring unused industrial land reserves to third parties so that they can carry out high-density development projects on the sites.
Traceable and long-term-oriented
- Certified – Tibram is certified to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 and holds a marking authorization: traceability of materials from receipt through to the delivered component.
- In-house manufacturing – engineering, production, and after-sales service are all handled within the group. This is precisely why the use of materials and energy can be documented with such precision.
- Throughout the entire lifecycle – At Jost, we support the machines we sell throughout their entire lifecycle by offering maintenance services, overhauls, and modifications. Tibram has been providing support for railway components for over 30 years. It is the lifecycle costs that matter, not the purchase price.
